Hello friends,
In addition to these newsletters, I am now sharing individual poems as 'notes' on the Substack app — please follow me there if you have an account.
Three poems this week, each a different type of palindrome. Enjoy! (And if you do, please consider supporting my work by purchasing either The Robots of Babylon or my new omnibus edition Knit Ink (and Other Poems).)
PIRATES (Palindrome by Letter)
Murmur....
Erupt, savage page!
Loot.
Sail a rose.
Rise, deviant age,
by sword....
Set a ripple —
hot, sleek keels to help.
Pirates, drowsy,
begat naïve desires —
or alias too, leg a peg.
Avast!
Pure rum, rum....
THE DALE UPSTREAM (Palindrome by Pairs of Letters)
We save
long-lost mounts,
and I rain,
led again in shades,
the river thus a dream....
Rest up. Go upstream.
Read us the river:
the sad shining —
a dale, in radiant sun;
most long loves’ awe....
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS (Palindrome by Word)
Answer the question,
to remember, always,
that those with truths
are stronger.
But —
stronger are truths
with those that always
remember to question
the answer....
