Hello friends,
Five small poems this week. Enjoy!
Also, please consider purchasing / listening to my new EP, CROWSONGS. It is among the best things that I have ever made.
The EP is available from my website (https://www.anthonyetherin.com/shop/p/crowsongs)
You can also hear it for free on YouTube.
FILM NOIR (Palindrome)
Prepare trope résumé:
Mad, arid antihero.
Man in a motel,
at a femme fatale,
to man in a more hit nadir.
A dame,
muse,
reporter —
a perp.
FOR BASHO (Palindrome-Haiku)
Loop a tag or fog.
Oh, sable, we jewel Basho.
Go, frog at a pool!
BEOWULF (Anagrammed Lines)
Reading Beowulf,
I frowned. A bugle
blew a ruined fog.
"Go, run!" I fled a web —
fragile, unbowed....
HYMN (Palindrome)
We dye
no hymn
in words.
Drab bards drown
in my honeydew.
BOTTLED POEM (Alternating Bivocalism*)
One bottled poem
holds
the other close.
(*uses only two vowels, o and e, which alternate throughout.)
Love the simplicity of the last poem most, though wow! The others are true works of a dexterous mind.
