Five Poems
Hello friends,
For the next week (and a bit), my five books through Penteract Press are 25% off with the discount code SPRING23 (Store — Penteract Press). Here's a short poem from each of these books:
FACEMASK (Palindrome, Slate Petals)
Put it on.
Knot it up.
Walks a man,
in a mask....
Law:
Put it on.
Knot it up.
ANAGRAM-TRIOLET FOR KEATS (Stray Arts)
Fled is that music:— Do I wake or sleep?
At dusk, a closer poem dies with life.
Amiss, I walk. I cloud the forest deep.
Fled is that music:— Do I wake or sleep?
It was the lucid dream of loss. I keep
its laws. Dues opiated, hemlock rife,
fled is that music. Do I wake or sleep
at dusk? A closer poem dies with life.
UTU (Univocalic Palindrome, The Utu Sonnets)
Utu,
sun rubs us.
Dusk cuts.
Dumb mud, stuck, suds us.
Burn us, Utu....
CONTROL (Anagrammed Lines, Cellar)
He cloned this short line’s letters.
This led to other sentences: shrill
little notes in chords he shelters,
his teeth held in restless control....
DYDD A NOS (Welsh Palindrome, The Noson Sonnets)
Noson yn y ddydd.
Dydd yn y noson.
(Night in the day
Day in the night.)
